Rant: A guy at my FLGS near Minneapolis said my turn was too slow, and now I run a 2 minute timer
About 8 months ago I was playing a 4 player game of Terraforming Mars at a shop in Minneapolis and a guy at the next table leaned over and said my turns were dragging the whole table down. I was kind of annoyed at first, but he was right, I was sitting there doing math in my head while everyone waited. Now I bring a little sand timer and give myself 2 minutes to pick a move, and our games finish in about half the time they used to. Turns out the pressure helps me way more than staring at my cards for 10 minutes. Does your group use any kind of timer, or do you just let people take as long as they want?
