Update: I switched from sleeving every card to just shuffling them and the games still work
Two weeks ago I sat down with my copy of Wingspan and a pile of 200 sleeves I bought at the shop in Greeley, and about 40 cards in I just stopped. My hands were sweaty, the sleeves kept sliding around, and the stack was so tall it wouldn't fit back in the insert. I had been sleeving everything for about 3 years because some guy at my old game night swore it was the only way to keep a collection nice. But then I looked at my copy of Catan that I have played maybe 60 times with zero sleeves, and the cards are still fine, just a little soft on the corners. Meanwhile my buddy's fully sleeved copy of Dominion won't even stack right and he has to store it in two boxes. So now I only sleeve games where cards get shuffled a ton and are hard to replace, like my out of print copy of Chinatown. The rest just get played and that is kind of the point. Does anyone else sleeve everything, or did you also give up at some point? Curious where people draw the line.
