Heard a guy say 8 inch slips are obsolete, I think he's wrong

Take a closer look at what he's calling obsolete. 8 inch slips still show up in a ton of older plumbing and even some new builds, so they're far from gone. Sounds like he's mainly working with newer fittings and forgot that the old stuff doesn't just disappear.
