TIL a simple soap trick for cleaning out old boiler tubes

Was fighting with caked-on scale in some 2 inch tubes at the old power plant near Gary last Tuesday... tried every chemical and wire brush in the book. A 30 year veteran told me to mix dish soap with warm water and let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing. Took off way more gunk than the expensive stuff ever did. Any of you guys got weird homemade cleaning solutions that actually work?

Makes me think how the simplest stuff we already got usually works better than the fancy products...

Dollar store glass cleaner works better than half the expensive stuff I've tried.
