Finally caught a mistake in my book club's discussion of To Kill a Mockingbird
Everyone kept saying Atticus was a perfect hero, but I noticed he never actually changes in the book. He's the same at the end as he starts. Has anyone else noticed that static characters can still teach us something?

Used to think he was flawless but you're totally right.

Wait, "used to think he was flawless" - are we talking about the same guy? Because I just remembered that time he showed up to that awards thing looking like he hadn't slept in three days... his hair was all greasy and he had this blank stare like he forgot where he was. And didn't he completely freeze during that live interview last year? Just stood there stammering for like 10 seconds while the host tried to fill the silence. I mean, I still like his work but flawless is a strong word after all that awkwardness...
