Our club somehow survived 14 straight picks without a single 5 star book

We just wrapped pick 14 last Tuesday at my place in Portland and I went back through the list out of curiosity. Highest rating anyone gave any book was 4 stars, and only 3 of those. Is a permanent 3 star club actually fine, or are we just too polite to pick anything risky?
