The 3-pager rule that finally fixed our book club arguments

Our group kept fighting over whether a book was 'good' or not. We spent 20 minutes on the plot and ignored the themes. I started making a one page sheet with 5 questions before each meeting. Everyone fills it out. Now we talk about why we disagree instead of who is right. It cut our arguments in half. Has anyone else tried a structured guide for their club meetings?
