The book club lady who swore by audiobooks, I owe her an apology
Our group almost split over whether listening counts as reading, and this one member, Carol, kept pushing audiobooks hard. I argued for like three meetups that it wasn't the same, mostly because I wanted to feel superior about my paper copies. Then I hit a brutal stretch with my renovation deadline in Austin, 60 hour weeks and zero time to sit down. I caved and tried the audiobook version of our current pick during my drive between job sites. Turns out I finished it faster and actually caught more details, so now I'm the guy telling everyone to give it a shot. Has anyone else flip-flopped on this after a busy stretch?

Once you hit that first good audiobook during a commute, it's hard to go back. I still buy physical copies for my favorites, but now I grab the audio for anything I know I'll be stuck in traffic with. The trick is finding a narrator who doesn't sound like they're reading a bedtime story to a toddler.
