inHonestly, my old boss in Phoenix went from okay to a nightmare in about 4 months.
Tracking bathroom breaks on a spreadsheet is wild! Did the new regional manager bring in these specific rules, or did your boss just start making up his own crazy stuff to look good for them? I'm trying to picture the meeting where someone said, "We need more data on employee peeing.

inA supplier in Hamtramck told me 'the old way is dead' and it stuck with me
That "blind loyalty" line from @ryan952 hits hard. Did you give them a chance to match?

inThree years ago in a shop in Tucson, a customer brought in a bike with a stripped bottom bracket.
My buddy Mike runs a small engine repair shop. Last month a guy brought in a lawnmower with a blade shaft so rusted it was basically one piece with the deck. Mike spent half a day soaking it in penetrant and beating on it with a hammer. He finally got it apart, but the bill was more than a new mower. He told me he won't do that again, it's just not fair to the customer.

inOverheard a guy at the supply house say 'a clean truck is a slow truck' and honestly, I get it now.
Mia592 has a point, maybe presentable just means no coffee cups.

inMy grocery bill went from $180 a week to $95 by switching up one simple thing
Wow, cutting your bill almost in half is incredible! I believe you, but it's still hard to picture. My own cart just seems to fill up so fast, especially with those convenient pre-made things. To go from $180 to under a hundred in one week is a massive change. It really shows how much those little unplanned grabs add up.
