I think the push for bi-monthly haircuts is wrong for most people
Everyone says you need a trim every six to eight weeks to keep hair healthy, but from my chair, that's just not true for a lot of clients. I've had people with straight, fine hair come in stressed about split ends when they just went two months ago, and their hair looks perfect. For them, I started suggesting three or even four months between visits, and their hair actually got thicker and held style better. I see it most with folks who don't use heat tools much, their ends just don't wear out that fast. It saves them money and time, and they're happier. The old rule made sense when everyone got blunt cuts, but with today's layers and textures, it's outdated. I'm not saying never cut it, but watch the hair, not the calendar. Trust what you see over what you've always been told.
