Old timer told me to trust the prints over my eyes... he was right

Fair enough but a 90s Cessna isn't really an old timer's plane, that's more like the era when they started getting sloppy with the wiring diagrams.

That one comment on my color palette still sticks with me

Thin line? More like a tightrope over a pit of angry bees. Best way to tell is if they're offering a fix or just pointing out a problem. Some jerk will say "that sucks" and walk away. A useful person says "that part's weak, here's why." Had a guy tell me my wiring looked like "a drunk spider did it." Rude. But he showed me a better way to run conduit. So yeah, he was a jerk and right at the same time. Still felt like an ass though.

Hit 1000 oil changes last Tuesday and it messed with my head

Totally disagree @irishenderson. Numbers are just numbers at the end of the day. I've done thousands of jobs and I don't count them because honestly the next one is always the same as the last. Trust is nice but people pay me to fix their stuff not to feel warm and fuzzy about it.

Stopped by the new hangar at the regional airport in Billings and saw something that made me shake my head.

Hold on, sealing is not the only reason that filter is designed to go on one way.

My stand mixer pulley belt snapped mid-batch of sourdough yesterday

Hang on @reese_patel, have you weighed that flour instead of measuring it? Six cups could be right on if your starter is really active and you're using a high hydration dough. A lot of sourdough recipes online are just guesses, not lab tested like the old ones.
