Rant: I swore I'd never touch a drum brake again, then my rear wheel locked up 4 miles from home

The shoes were fine but the return spring had stretched just enough to drag, and I fought that thing for 6 hours across three evenings because I kept second guessing the adjuster. It was a 15 minute fix once I quit trying to outsmart the manual, has anyone else had a spring fool them into a full teardown?
