My homemade paste was clumping until I changed the water temperature.

I found that using lukewarm water instead of cold makes the paste smooth and easy to spread.

Always swore by cold water for some reason, but you're totally right. Lukewarm makes it way better.

Cold water just makes the powder clump up at the bottom of the glass. Lukewarm lets everything mix in smooth right from the start. I test it by putting a drop on my wrist, same as for a baby bottle. If it doesn't feel hot or cold, it's the perfect temp for mixing.
