Thought the whole 'budgeting by category' thing was overkill until I added up my coffee runs

I tracked every single $4.50 latte I bought over three months and it came to $189. That was enough for a solid grocery run for my family of five. Has anyone else had a boring little habit that quietly drained way more than you'd guess?

Man, tell me about it. My buddy Dave was the same way with his gym membership. He was paying like $45 a month for this fancy place he went to maybe twice. After a year he realized he'd dropped over $500 on basically a really expensive keychain and a locker he never used.

You're basically paying a barista's car insurance. Funny how the small stuff adds up. That $189 could be a whole year of Netflix and a pizza night. @noah415 your buddy Dave is on my wavelength over here. I once paid $60 a month for a gym I used exactly zero times for six months. I was basically donating to the treadmill fund.

Realized I was dropping $8 a day on parking near my office. That's like $160 a month and I just never thought about it because it was automatic. Switched to a lot a block further and I'm saving almost $100 a month now.
