Changed my mind about debt after watching a neighbor lose their house

I used to think all debt was just part of life, nothing to panic about. But after seeing my neighbor's foreclosure auction happen last spring on Elm Street, with all their furniture out on the lawn, I realized some debts are a boss you cannot ignore. Has anyone else had a specific event completely flip their thinking on money?

My sister's car repo taught me the same lesson. Some debts don't mess around.

Yeah, paying off the smallest debt first really helped me get some momentum.
