My brother in law said I was nuts to hand address 400 wedding invites, he was dead right
My brother in law Dan told me back in March that hand addressing 400 invites for my sister's wedding in Cincinnati would break me, and I laughed him off since I have decent handwriting. Three weeks later my wrist was shot, I was only on invite 150, and I had smeared ink on at least 20 of them from rushing. So now I am eating crow and paying a calligraphy lady $2 a pop, and I want to know, has anyone else ignored a warning from a relative and had it blow up exactly how they said?
Watching my cousin go through this exact thing with 200 save the dates last summer. Her mom said hire someone, she said she could do it on the couch while watching TV, and by week two her hand was cramping so bad she couldn't hold a pen. The kicker is she still had to pay someone to redo the messy ones, so she spent double the money and triple the time. Dan was basically a prophet and you should probably buy that man a beer. The real lesson here is that when a relative who has zero reason to lie to you tells you something will break you, they are usually right.
