My neighbor Betty told me I was watering my lawn wrong and showed me her sprinkler schedule from last summer

She walked right over with a rain gauge and a clipboard during my morning watering routine, said I was drowning the roots by doing 15 minutes every day instead of 45 minutes twice a week, and now my grass is greener than it has been in 6 years, so has anyone else had a nosy neighbor give advice that actually worked better than what you were doing?

Oh man, I was so annoyed when my neighbor Carl came over and told me I was fertilizing my garden beds all wrong. I'd been throwing down that blue stuff every two weeks like clockwork and he said I was basically burning the roots with too much nitrogen. Switched to a slow release organic mix he recommended and did it just once in spring and once in fall like he said. My tomatoes went from okay to absolutely ridiculous last year, I had to give bags away. Still hate that he was right though, makes me feel like I've been doing everything by guesswork for years.

@quinnbailey Same thing happened with my peppers after switching to fish emulsion once a month.
