Overheard a manager say resilience is just refusing to quit, is that true?

I was at a coffee shop in Denver and heard this manager telling his trainee that resilience is just stubbornness with a better name. But I've been stuck on this debt payment plan for 18 months now, and some days I really want to walk away. Does grit actually matter if you're just banging your head against a wall, or is there a real trick to knowing when to pivot?

Same pattern plays out in relationships, jobs, even Netflix queues before they finally click.

Honestly yeah @brooke_walker nails it, stubbornness and resilience are basically twins.
