Mobile check deposit vs ATM deposit - huge difference in hold times

I compared my bank's mobile deposit to using the ATM for the same $500 check last month. The ATM gave me $200 available instantly, but mobile deposit held the whole amount for 3 business days. Has anyone else noticed this kind of difference with their bank?

Gave up on pour-over coffee after a month, then my aunt proved me wrong

I was totally convinced that pour-over coffee was just a waste of time. I tried it for a month using a cheap plastic cone and some grocery store beans. The coffee always came out bitter or weak no matter what I did. Then my aunt visited from Portland and brought her own gear. She made me a cup using a metal filter and fresh roasted beans from a local shop. The flavor was so clean and bright I couldn't believe it. Turns out my cheap setup and stale beans were the problem, not the method. Has anyone else had a bad first try with pour-over that turned around later?

That return desk clerk gave me bad advice 3 months ago

Guy at the Home Depot return desk told me I could return my opened paint sprayer no problem after 90 days. I waited until day 85 and they refused it because the policy changed to 30 days last year. Has anyone else gotten burned by bad info from a store employee?

Wasted 14 hours on 'The Empress' and regret every minute

I binged the whole first season of that period drama 'The Empress' thinking it would pick up, but it was just slow scenes and boring politics for 14 hours straight. Lost a whole weekend I'll never get back, and the payoff was basically nothing. Anyone else fall for shows with pretty trailers that turn out to be total snoozefests?

My lip filler looked amazing for 3 weeks then turned into a lumpy mess

Got 1ml of Juvederm done 2 months ago at a place in Portland. First 3 weeks it looked perfect, natural, just what I wanted. Then around week 4 a hard lump showed up on my upper lip. Massaged it like they said, went back for a checkup, they said it's just scar tissue forming and to wait it out. It's been 8 weeks now and the lump is still there. The rest of the filler dissolved but this one spot stayed. Has anyone else had filler leave a permanent bump? Did yours ever go away or am I stuck with it?

Walked into a Nordstrom Rack in Phoenix and saw a $600 coat marked down to $89

I was just killing time before a dentist appointment last Tuesday and wandered into the Nordstrom Rack near the Biltmore area. There was this big wool coat from a brand I recognized sitting on a clearance rack with like four different colored tags on it. I grabbed it and the final price rang up at $89 when I checked the tag code with my phone. The original retail was $600 which feels insane but I've noticed their clearance stuff gets hidden in weird corners. The trick is knowing when they do their markdowns on Tuesdays because that's when they pull inventory from full-line stores. I snagged it and also found a pair of boots that were $50 off just because the box was beat up. Does anyone else have a specific day they hit up discount stores like this? I'm trying to figure out if there's a better pattern for finding the deep cuts.
