Saw a photo of my desk from 2018 and barely recognized it

I was cleaning out old files last week and came across a picture of my workspace from 6 years ago. Back then I had three monitors stacked weird, cables everywhere, and a cheap office chair that hurt my back by noon. Now I'm down to one ultrawide monitor and a standing desk converter I got for $150. Has anyone else simplified their setup and felt like they actually got more done?

Totally get what you mean. I remember having a huge tower PC with neon lights and a massive, loud keyboard. Now I use a simple laptop with a small external monitor and a quiet mechanical board. It's like the clutter was just mentally exhausting me without me even realizing it. Cleaning up the cables alone saved me 10 minutes of untangling every morning. And honestly, my back thanks me every day for ditching that awful office chair. Sometimes less really is more when it comes to getting stuff done.

Hmm, I gotta disagree a little here. I went the other way actually. Moved from a laptop to a big desk setup with a proper monitor arm and a good chair. My neck was killing me from hunching over that laptop screen. Yeah, cables can be a mess but some velcro straps fix that in 5 minutes. I dunno, for me having a dedicated workspace that I walk away from at the end of the day helps me actually separate work from relaxing.
