A coworker told me I was watering my pothos wrong and she was right
I had this big pothos plant at my desk for about a year and it was always looking droopy and yellow. My coworker Sarah walked by and said I was watering it on a schedule instead of checking the soil first. She showed me to stick my finger about an inch deep and only water when it feels dry. I used to just pour a cup every Monday without thinking. Now I wait until the soil is actually dry and my pothos perked up in like two weeks. Has anyone else had a simple tip like that change how you care for a plant?

I saw a plant lady on TikTok say the same thing, pouring on a schedule is the fastest way to kill a pothos. Made such a difference for mine too.

@jana_price nailed it, TikTok plant people have definitely saved some of my plants from a slow death. I was the exact same way with my snake plant, watering it every Sunday like clockwork because that's what my grandma did with her peace lily. Turns out snake plants hate that and mine was basically drowning in my ignorance. Now I just poke my finger in the dirt like a weirdo and wait until it's bone dry. My pothos is finally living its best life too after I stopped treating it like a fish. Perking up in two weeks is a great feeling, makes you wonder what else in life needs less scheduled attention.
