My monstera's new leaf came in with a big brown hole and I think I fried it with tap water
Bought a monstera deliciosa back in April from a greenhouse in Fresno and it was pushing out a new leaf about 3 weeks ago. I kept it near my west window and watered it straight from the tap like always, and this one leaf unfurled with a brown crispy patch right in the middle. Did some reading and now I think it is a mix of our hard water and too much direct afternoon sun hitting it in 100 degree heat. I moved it back about 4 feet and switched to filtered water from the fridge pitcher, so we will see what the next leaf does. Do you all let your tap water sit out overnight before using it, or is filtered the way to go for these?
