Swapped my grow lights for south-facing windows and never looked back

I used to run two 300W LED panels for my indoor succulents, but after moving to a new apartment in Portland with huge south windows, I switched to natural light about 6 months ago. The color on my echeverias got way deeper, and I stopped dealing with leggy growth. Anyone else ditch artificial lights for natural sun on their plants?

Wait, you're in Portland and you ditched artificial lights completely? I'm honestly shocked you made it through an entire winter there without your succulents turning into sad, stretched-out ghosts. I mean, I get that the color on echeverias gets wild under real sun, but up here in the Pacific Northwest you're basically gambling with overcast for months on end. I tried the same thing when I moved to Seattle and by February half my collection looked like it was begging for a light panel. How did you not lose like three inches of growth on everything?

Feels like you're overhyping this a bit. Natural light is great and all but my LEDs give me consistent results year round without worrying about Oregon's grey winters. Pretty sure a lot of people just get lazy and blame their lights when the real issue is watering or soil mix.
