Rained out on the Cedar Street job and my mortar got away from me
We were laying block on the Cedar Street duplex last Tuesday and the sky just opened up around 2pm, no warning at all. I had about 40 blocks set that morning (best pace I've had in a while) but the mortar in my board went soupy before I could cover the work, so we lost the whole back wall corner. My lead guy Marcus just shook his head and said we should've checked the radar at lunch. How do you all deal with surprise rain mid-lay, do you tarp it or just eat the loss and rebuild?
Had a buddy lose a whole corner the same way last spring, and now he keeps a cheap tarp bungeed to his truck rack and just throws it over the board the second he sees clouds building. Saved his bacon twice since then and cost him like fifteen bucks.
