Am I the only one who learned to fix their own joy con drift from a YouTube video at 2am?
My left stick started drifting hard during a Splatoon match last Tuesday and I almost tossed the controller across the room. Grabbed a $7 tri-wing screwdriver kit off Amazon, swapped the joystick module in about 25 minutes, and it's been solid for a week now. Anyone got a better source for replacement sticks though? The one I got feels a little stiff compared to the right side.
Doing a 25 minute repair at 2am off a random video sounds like a good way to strip a screw and make things worse. Nintendo will fix drift for free in a lot of cases, and a shop would charge maybe $30 with parts that actually match the right stick feel. Cheap third party sticks are known for being stiff or dying in a month, so the $7 kit plus a mystery part may cost you more later.
