Rant: My Switch Lite drift got worse after I followed a YouTube fix

Last Tuesday my left stick started drifting into the void. Looked up a video, guy said to use contact cleaner and a toothpick. Did exactly what he showed. Now it drifts worse and the calibration screen won't even register the stick past 80%. I'm in Omaha and no repair shop here will touch it under $70. Has anyone actually fixed joycon drift without replacing the whole stick module, or is that video just bait for clicks?
