That repair guy in Tulsa who refused to take my money
Back around 2019 my laptop hinge snapped clean off, and this older fella at a shop off Route 66 fixed it in about 20 minutes with a soldering iron and some epoxy. When I asked what I owed, he just said, 'You paid me by letting me show you how it's done, kid.' He walked me through the whole tear down, even marked the screw lengths on a sticky note for next time. I still use that hinge trick today, and it makes me wonder, how many of you learned a fix from a stranger who wouldn't bill you?
