Wasted $80 on a screen repair kit that was missing half the tools
Thought I could save money fixing my Galaxy's cracked screen myself, bought this kit off Amazon with good reviews. Opened it up and there was no heat gun or suction cup, just a tiny pry tool and a sticky pad that didn't work. Ended up taking it to a shop in town and paying $140 anyway. Anyone else get burned by those cheap repair bundles that don't include what you actually need?

Dude that is rough. @avery_carr57 is totally right, missing the heat gun and suction cup is basically a scam for what you're trying to do. I had a similar thing happen with a laptop repair kit that was supposed to have screwdrivers but only came with a flimsy plastic spudger and a few sticky pads that couldn't lift a piece of paper. You basically paid $80 for a lesson that the cheap kits are never worth the headache. Hope the shop at least did a decent job with the fix.

Hold up, wait. No heat gun AND no suction cup? That's basically the two most important tools for any screen repair. You can't even get the glass loose without heat, and good luck pulling it up with just a fingernail. Sounds like you got a "tool kit" that was just a plastic spudger and some hopes and dreams. That's wild they even called it a repair kit when it's missing the actual repair parts.
