Appreciation post: that $4 bag of dried chickpeas I bought last month

I made 3 meals out of a single $4 bag of dried chickpeas last week in my tiny apartment kitchen in Austin. Two curries and a roasted snack batch, way more filling than the canned ones. Has anyone else switched from canned to dried and actually saved money long term?

Canned ones taste way better and save me hours of soaking and boiling.

Had a buddy who swore by canned beans for years till his wife proved him wrong at a family BBQ. @wood.noah you do you but fresh ones have a texture that canned just can't match. Took one bite of hers and he finally admitted the extra work was worth it.
