Can we talk about people buying pre-chopped veggies to save time?

In my experience, that's the biggest waste of money for a budget meal. A whole head of broccoli costs $2.50, but the pre-cut florets are $5 for half the amount. Has anyone else found a cheap kitchen tool that makes chopping faster?

Honestly, my good chef's knife changed everything. I used to dread chopping an onion, but with a sharp blade it takes like 30 seconds. That's way faster than a trip to the store for the pre-cut stuff. I spent maybe $40 on the knife years ago, and it's paid for itself a hundred times over. What do you usually find takes the longest to prep?

Totally, a sharp knife makes even carrots a breeze.
