Canned sardines on toast for dinner three times a week keeps my costs down. My friends think it's weird, but I don't mind at all.

Sardines on toast is a killer budget meal that lots of people sleep on. Throw some hot sauce or lemon on there to mix it up if you get bored. Your friends are missing out on an easy way to save money and eat well.

Try adding a fried egg on top for a cheap and way more filling meal.

Totally agree, I eat that at least twice a week. I mash the sardines with a little mayo and black pepper before toasting the bread. It's a solid little meal that never gets old.
