Rant: my neighbor told me to stop buying chicken breasts and it hurt my pride
My neighbor Rosa caught me loading a family pack of chicken breasts into my cart at the Aldi on 12th and asked why I never buy thighs, since they were $1.29 a pound that day versus $3.49 for the breasts. I got a little defensive (okay, a lot defensive) and said my kids would notice the difference, but she just laughed and told me to cook them low with some onion and cumin and see if anyone said a word. I tried it Tuesday night, shredded the meat for tacos, and my 9 year old asked for seconds, so I guess I lost that argument. Now I have $18 left in my grocery budget this week and no clue what to do with it, so what's the move, more thighs or should I stock up on rice and beans?
