Hot take: I used to skip breakfast to save money, but not now

I always thought skipping meals was a smart way to cut costs while traveling. Then, I got so hungry on a hike that I had to buy overpriced snacks at a tourist spot. That wasted more money than if I had packed a simple meal from a grocery store. Now, I bring oatmeal packets and a reusable cup to make breakfast in my room. It keeps me full and focused for the day, saving cash and time. I even use local markets to buy fresh fruit cheaply. This small shift has made my travels much better and cheaper.

Learned that lesson the hard way too... thought I was so smart skipping meals, then ended up buying a ten-dollar granola bar at some tourist trap. My past self was so dumb sometimes.

But is it really that serious? We all buy overpriced stuff when we're hungry. It's just a ten dollar snack, not a life changing mistake. Calling yourself dumb for that seems too harsh. In the grand scheme, it's a small thing to worry about.
