Stopped booking hostels after 32 and switched to house sitting instead

I used to love hostels in my 20s but after a loud dorm in Prague last year I had enough. Started house sitting through a site and saved $400 in two weeks just on accommodation. Anyone else make the switch as they got older?

@ward.fiona yeah I had a buddy who did a 3 week house sit in Austin last summer and saved almost $500 while the owners were on vacation in Spain... crazy how quick it adds up when you aren't paying per night.

Wait, you saved $400 in just two weeks from house sitting? That's insane! How is that even possible, did you find some rich person's mansion or something? I've heard of people doing it but never heard numbers that big thrown around so casually. Honestly makes me wonder if I've been wasting money on hotels this whole time.
