Unpopular opinion: tried the $2 airport water bottle refill trick and TSA tossed my empty bottle in Denver
Brought my own empty bottle through security to skip the $5 airport water, and the agent at Denver made me dump it anyway because it was over 20oz even though it was bone dry. So I paid $4.50 at a Hudson News like a sucker and watched three other people get waved right through with the same size bottle. Is this just random based on which line you pick or is there an actual rule I'm missing?
Getting "waved right through with the same size bottle" is the part that kills me, it's like the rules change depending on who's working that day. I once watched a guy chug an entire Nalgene at the checkpoint just so he wouldn't lose it, and honestly I respect the commitment.
