Question about the notebook swap I did after that conference in Portland

After attending the BuJo Meetup at Powell's last March where everyone raved about fine tip pens, I switched to a Leuchtturm1917 and now my ink smears every single time, has anyone else found that glossy pages ruin their layouts?

Wait, are you using the 80gsm or the 120gsm? Because I had the exact same problem with the regular Leuchtturm... my fountain pen ink would just sit on top and smear all over my hand. I actually switched back to a Moleskine for a while because I was so frustrated. The glossy pages just don't soak anything in, it's like writing on plastic wrap. I tried using different pens with faster drying ink and that helped a little, but honestly I just gave up on Leuchtturm for anything with a wet pen.

Heard someone say Leuchtturm changed their paper supplier a few years back, that's why the coating feels different now. Maybe that explains the plastic wrap feeling.
