Chose a cheap virtual assistant over a fancy CRM, best call of the year

At the end of last quarter I had two options: spend $300 a month on a customer tracking system, or hire a part time VA for the same money. I went with the VA, a mom from Phoenix who works mornings. She handles follow up emails and data entry, and my close rate went up 18% in about 6 weeks because nothing slips through now. Has anyone else picked people over software and seen better results?
