Threw $500 at a Facebook ad experiment and it actually paid off
I was skeptical about running ads for my little landscaping side gig in Columbus but figured why not. Put $500 into a targeted ad for lawn maintenance packages last month and got 4 solid clients out of it, which covers the cost plus some. I used the city's neighborhood pages to aim the ad, not just generic targeting. Anyone else find a weird cheap ad method that worked way better than expected?

I ran a $300 test for my landscaping thing in Austin and got 3 clients from targeting specific HOA Facebook groups instead of the whole city. Narrowing it down to people who actually need lawn care in their deed restrictions made a huge difference.

Man I had the same thing happen when I ran ads for my gutter cleaning side gig down in San Antonio. I threw $250 at Nextdoor posts in three specific neighborhoods where I knew houses had those big oak trees dropping leaves in the gutters. Got five calls in the first week compared to like zero from the city-wide Craigslist post I tried before. It really is about being where people are already talking about their problems instead of blasting it everywhere. You found a goldmine with those HOA groups for sure.
