My data bill went from $89 to $41 after I finally tracked down one thing on our shop network
We run a small print shop in Akron with 6 computers and a couple of big plotters, and our business internet bill had quietly crept up to $89 a month. I spent two hours one evening going through the router admin page and found that our old guest wifi password was still active and some guy in the apartment above us had been pulling movies off it since March. Killed that network, set up a separate one with a new password, and our usage dropped enough that I could move us to a cheaper plan. The next bill came in at $41 and it has stayed there for 4 months. What got me is that nobody at the provider ever mentioned our usage was climbing, I had to dig for it myself. Has anyone else caught a stranger riding on their business connection without knowing?
