My neighbor in Tulsa handed me a wrench and a beer after I crossthreaded my oil pan bolt
Two Saturdays ago I was doing my first oil change on my 2008 Civic in my driveway in Tulsa when I felt the bolt go in rough and then it just spun. I sat there staring at a puddle of oil and my dumb face for maybe 20 minutes. My neighbor Ray walked over, looked at it, and said 'everyone does that one, kid' and handed me a tap and die set from his garage. He walked me through rethreading it slow with plenty of oil and checked the torque twice with me. Now I keep a spare drain plug in the glovebox, but what really stuck was him not laughing at me once. Anyone else have a neighbor who saved a job like that?
