My washing machine drum off balance fix turned into a 3 day ordeal

Last month I tried to swap the bearing on my old washer and ended up bending the drum flange with a cheap puller from Harbor Freight. The drum wobbled so bad it walked across my laundry room floor in Wichita on the first spin cycle. I watched three repair videos and finally got a proper bearing puller for $65 that worked in about 20 minutes. The machine runs quiet now, but my back still hurts from lifting that drum twice. Has anyone else had a simple repair snowball because of the wrong tool the first time?
