The mechanic who insisted I use a torque wrench on my spark plugs, he was right
About 6 months ago my uncle, who's been turning wrenches since the 70s, watched me hand tighten my plugs on my 2002 Ranger and said I was asking for trouble. I laughed it off because I've done it that way for years. Then last month one of them backed out on the highway near Lubbock and I ended up with a seized coil pack and a $140 tow. Now I own a $25 torque wrench and I'm honestly mad at myself for never buying one sooner. Has anyone else fought using proper tools for years and regretted it when something finally let go?
