Rant: the cobbler on 4th told me my boots were fine and I nearly cried
I took my 9 year old work boots to a cobbler in Eugene because the leather felt dead and I was ready to buy new ones. He looked at them for about 30 seconds and said "these just need oil, not replacing" and charged me $8 for a conditioning job. He was right, they came back soft and the soles still have years left in them. Now I want to know how many pairs I gave up on that just needed basic care, has anyone else had a shop save a pair like this?
