That $200 backpack I bought 5 years ago just blew out on a Denver bus

I splurged on a 'tactical' brand off Instagram back in 2020 and the main zipper gave up halfway through my commute last Thursday. The stitching along the bottom was peeling for months before that, but I kept convincing myself it was fine. Does anyone have a solid backpack that handles city use for more than half a decade without needing repairs?

Saw a guy on Reddit say Mystery Ranch packs last forever but good luck finding one now.

yeah man i hunted one down on ebay after like three months of checking every day. the older ones are built like tanks, the newer stuff is still good but not quite the same. i scored a 3DAP in multicam for about $150 last year and it had some wear but the stitching was still perfect. honestly what worked for me was just setting up saved searches on ebay and OfferUp and checking at weird hours. also people sell them on the backpacking gear trade subreddit sometimes but you gotta be fast. if youre patient you can still find them, just dont expect to walk into REI and grab one off the shelf anymore.
