Used to cut ply dadoes on the table saw, switched to a router jig after 6 years of fiddling
For years I cut all my cabinet dadoes on the table saw with a stacked dado set. It worked, but every plywood sheet is a little undersized, so I was always shimming with masking tape to get the fit right. Then about 8 months ago I built a simple router jig out of scrap 3/4 inch birch and a couple of straight edges. Now I just clamp it on and run a 23/32 bit through in one pass. Fit is dead on every time and I can knock out a full sheet of cabinet sides in the time it used to take me to set up the dado stack. The one thing I miss is the speed on small parts, the router jig needs more room for the clamps. Curious what bit and jig setups you guys are running for 3/4 ply dadoes these days.
