Back when we used to run RG6 with a staple gun and call it a day
I was cleaning out my van yesterday and found an old roll of RG59 from like 2003. Made me think about how much has changed in 20 years. Back then we just stapled cable to baseboards and nobody cared about signal loss. Now I've got to check every bend radius and use compression fittings on every single connector. Had a homeowner last week ask me why I wasn't using push-on fittings and I almost laughed. Any of you old timers remember when a bad ground was just part of the job?

Man I was the same way for years. Used to throw push-on connectors on everything and called it good enough. Then I had this job where a customer's cable kept cutting out every time it rained, spent three days chasing noise problems. Switched to compression fittings after that and never looked back. The difference in signal clarity is honestly night and day once you start paying attention to it.

Three days chasing noise problems?" That's insane.
