Blew a fuse in a customer's panel last Tuesday and had to eat the cost

Was installing a new coax drop in a 1970s house in Phoenix and the old panel was so rusted I accidentally shorted something. $150 out of my pocket to get an electrician out there to fix it. How do you guys handle old electrical panels that look like they came from a salvage yard?

Old panels and me have a real "shocking" relationship.

1970s glass junction boxes in my buddy's house catch fire twice a year because the terminals arc through the cracked insulation. The real issue isn't the panel age but the brittle wire inside those boxes getting hot and touching something it shouldn't. Those old setups need a full rewire, not just a panel swap.
