Installed 200+ Wall Plates Tight Before A Greeley Tech Showed Me The $2 Trick
Eight months ago a senior tech in Greeley watched me torque every plate screw down hard on a 60-unit apartment job, then told me overtightened screws crack the plate collar so the cover pops off in about 3 years. He handed me a cheap clutch driver set to 5 inch-pounds and said finger tight plus a quarter turn is enough. Curious how many of you have gone back to fix callback plates you cranked down early on.
