Switched to a fish tape reel after 12 years of wrestling with loose tape

I used to just pull fish tape straight off the roll and let it tangle in my van. Last month I finally bought a Klein reel for $25 at the supply house near my shop in Phoenix. The first conduit run after that took maybe 3 minutes less but I didn't cuss even once. Has anyone else had that moment where a simple tool change just makes the day better?

Isnt it wild how something so small can change your whole mood on the job? I totally get that moment where you just stop and think "why didnt I do this years ago." It's like that one little upgrade makes you feel a bit more professional (you know, like you actually have your stuff together). The time saved is nice, but the peace of mind is even better in my book. No more wrestling with tangled loops while you're already sweating in a hot attic or crawl space. That alone is worth the $25, honestly.

Totally with you on that "didn't cuss even once" part. I had the exact same thing happen with a reel. Life changing for like 20 bucks.
