Why I skip the toner when tracing lines in apartments, and it works for me
In my experience, using a toner can add unnecessary time to simple jobs. Your mileage may vary, but I find visual tracing faster for most apartment layouts. What do you all think?

So skipping toner is your version of living on the edge. Visual tracing does save time, until it doesn't. I've seen simple jobs turn into headaches when the walls hide more than just studs. That extra minute with toner feels like a waste until you avoid a callback that eats half your day. But sure, gamble with your schedule if it makes you feel efficient. Just remember, luck isn't a reliable tool in this line of work.

Visual tracing works fine most of the time if you know what to look for. Only break out the toner for the real spaghetti jobs.

Honestly skipping toner seems risky lol, I've seen too many visual traces get messed up in complex walls. That extra minute with toner saves me from callbacks when there's hidden interference. For apartments with sketchy wiring it's just not worth the gamble.
